“L’Albergo del Cuore”
Launched with the acquisition in 2019 of a hotel in the historic center of Ravenna, this project was born with the aim of promoting a culture of sustainable development based on three specific pillars: innovation in the tourist offer, redevelopment of a historic building using modern techniques with reduced environmental impact, social inclusion and employment of young people with disabilities.
With “L’Albergo del Cuore” (The Heart Hotel) the San Vitale social cooperative aims to improve the qualified accommodation of the area by integrating it with additional services already carried out, including specialized educational interventions for children and adults, family support, innovative services of sustainable mobility. These are the assets of a generative project of various opportunities, not least, the desire to manage the hotel by promoting on-the-job training and job placement for young people with disabilities who have just left school and who have difficulty entering the world of work.
“L’Albergo del Cuore” is a project conceived and supported by the cooperative that will implement the agreement signed between local businesses in January 2019 and promoted by the Municipality of Ravenna, the Chamber of Commerce and trade associations. The various signatories have committed themselves to promoting accessible tourism, offering tourist and social-health services adapted to the needs of customers, including those with “special” needs, to guarantee them full enjoyment of the “right to a holiday”.
On 30th October 2019 the project “L’Albergo del Cuore” won the fifth edition of the Innovatori Responsabili Award (Responsible Innovators) held by the Emilia-Romagna Region.
